Decent stop to eat close to the Hellfire caves. We ordered a sandwich, but they were out of bread, and we were actually quite glad because the fish and chips was a much better choice! The chicken burger was decent and I thought it was nice to have the choice of 2 slaws, although seemed a bit unnecessary to eat both. Chips on both meals were lovely. The lady behind the bar greeted us really quickly and was very attentive too!
Lovely local pub with amazing food, used to visit here a lot when I lived close by, friendly local bunch and warming to newcomers. The outdoor toilets can get a bit cold but they are big and clean. Definitely recommend stopping by and having a bite to eat, the triple cooked chips are so good. The staff went to the effort to make me a mojito last time too. 5*
Great hotel, very old, expect funny shaped floors, stairs and odd period details. I don't think that there is 90degree angle anywhere. So not a 'travelodge' style where everything is the same. Service is great, rooms are clean and renovated.
A pub with atmosphere that is happy to have dogs in the dining area is a big plus. That the staff were friendly and unrushed, the menu extensive and the food very tasty added to the experience so we had a lovely evening.
My friends and I booked this hotel at short notice and we had a really great stay. It’s a really unusual place with lots of history and stories as well as a good selection of beers. The manager, Monica, was a great host and looked after us really well. Thank you!
i had breakfast here and the food was delicious, would definitely recommend as the place to go. the waitress in the morning Daniela was lovely, regardless of the language barrier she provided a wonderful service, (the staff that work at this venue are always lovely regardless of who it is and they create a pleasant environment)
What an absolutely amazing place to stay! Friendly staff, big rooms, comfortable beds, and this touch of history. There is a lovely pub downstairs, the staff is friendly and helpful and there is a romantic garden area. I already plan to be back here for my holidays, and I will stay at the exact same hotel.
